Greetings!
Welcome ... this is an exciting moment for us, as the launch of this website in our 150th year allows a time for reflection on how we've grown as a church community. Often times we will hear stories of how St. Michael's was; the way things used to be ... but it's easy to look back on the past with a fondness for all that was good while forgetting some of the challenges we may have faced. So it is the same in 2009. Our community may be smaller --- but it is more diverse, rich in cultural traditions and languages that were absent in the early days.
For this week our focus is on now -- so tell us ... What does it mean to you to be a Parishioner in the Church of St. Michael's the Archangel?

My family joined St. Michael's about 4 years ago. We were immediately taken with the warmth of the parish community; the focus on our humanness and willingness to accept all unconditionally. The diverse nature of our parish represents this Catholic Culture.
For this reason I am always proud to say "I am from St. Michael's" -- a 21st Century St. Michael's where everyone knows your name, where the smallest act can make the biggest difference, where children still crawl around the floors during homily and yes ... the sign of peace is a social event lasting upwards of 5mins. I'll take this last particularly over a polite wave from an adjacent pew or a policy of no-handshaking during the winter cold season. Yes, I'll risk a cold for a warm embrace and a chance to reflect on how fortunate our family is for the opportunity to be parishioners of St. Michael's.

I am very proud to be a part of Saint Macheal catholic church,I and my family came from Africa, and the first church we joined was Saint Macheal,they received us with respect and love. On the behalf of African community, I would like to thank Saint Macheal for the love,respect and sympathy that they have shown to us. some of us do not speak english but the Gospel reading in a mother language was offered for those. Saint micheal of diversity cultural and languages contuinue to grow,thanks to Saint Micheal member of the church.

I have also found a church that feels like it's own small community. We spend time together out of church. We go to the movies, have cookouts, and spend time talking to one-another.

I and my family came from Africa, and the first church we joined was Saint Macheal,they received us with respect and love.
